Chronic Migraines
I used to get headaches most days out of the week, felt tired and dizzy. I dealt with this as long as I can remember. I started seeing Dr. Roth in October and I haven't had a headache since I started care with him. I have felt move energized and even a lot happier. Dr. Roth is not only great at what he does, but is an exceptional human being. He genuinely cares about each and every one of his patients. I'm thankful every day to have found a doctor as wonderful as Dr. Roth.

Low Back Pain
I first went to see Dr. Roth about six months after giving birth to my son. I was in near-constant pain in my lower back, it got so bad that I sometimes had trouble bending to put the baby in his crib. It hurt too much to even practice yoga, something that used to feel good. After only a few adjustments by Dr. Roth, I started to feel better. Now I'm pain-free and back to enjoying all the activities I used to. Thanks to Dr. Roth, I'm no longer in pain!

Multiple Sclerosis
I heard about your chiropractic office through Susan Tukey. I have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis for 18 years and she had told me that a doctor that performed an upper cervical technique could possibly help with my condition. I have been to other chiropractors in the past and didn’t understand the difference between the treatment I had already received and upper cervical specific care. I had watched a video that Susan had sent to me on Montel Williams and how he got help with his Multiple Sclerosis by an upper cervical procedure.

Chronic Migraine Headaches
The naturopathic physician whom I had started seeing two weeks prior referred me to Dr. Justin Roth in September. I went to her for migraine headaches that were increasing in number and intensity. I had been having problems with them for a few years but I was now getting them weekly and they would last for sometimes a few days and nothing seemed to help. These headaches were affecting my quality of life and I was starting to think I would just have to live with them.

Chronic Neck and Low Back Pain
When I initially came to see Dr. Justin Roth I was unsure exactly what Upper Cervical Subluxation was and how it was affecting my quality of life. All I did know is that I have had erratic neck pain and continuous lower back pain for the better part of a decade. The pain started when I was in The United States Marine Corps from all the heavy equipment and had continually became worse over time with the other careers I had taken, all of which make you susceptible to injuries and muscle strain.

Facial Paralysis, Arthritis in Hands and Chronic Neck Problems
I am so grateful to have you as my upper cervical doctor. I lost use of turning my neck to the left. Driving was very difficult because I couldn't turn to see where the cars were. After only one adjustment from Dr. Roth and within the first week of care, I was feeling so much better. I could turn my neck completely to the left. Also, I have arthritis and after the adjustment I experienced a loosening in both of my hands. Lastly, due to a gunshot wound to the right side of my face it was hard to move my facial muscles.

Headaches
I was getting headaches constantly for about a week and couldn’t figure out why. So I went to Dr. Aresco who recommended Dr. Justin Roth. I figured that it couldn’t hurt since nothing else was working. And sure enough he was able to help. The first time he adjusted me I felt instant results. All the pressure around my head was gone and I was able to get back to work without any headaches. From being his patient you learn a great deal about the nerves and spine; how they control your whole body.

Migraines and Neck Pain
I was referred to Dr. Roth, a Cervical Specialist Chiropractor after a riding accident in February 2010. I had a mild concussion and had injured my neck pretty severely. I had been going to my regular chiropractor for five weeks after the accident and I was not getting any better. Luckily my chiropractor realized it must be my cervical spine and she referred me to Dr. Roth. Before treating me, Dr. Roth ordered x-rays of my neck that showed my C-1 vertebrae, also known as the Atlas vertebrae was shifted out of alignment.

Lower Back Pain
I first heard about chiropractic care while talking to a friend of mine. He had been experiencing some lower back pain over the course of several years. He finally gave chiropractic care a try and it helped him feel pain free. I had recently begun feeling some lower back pain myself and wanted to do something about it. After speaking with my friend I decided to give it a try. My lower back pain began slowly and was fairly mild. Over time the pain became more frequent and the intensity of the pain grew to intolerable levels.

Multiple Sclerosis
In 1984 I had a lower back injury while in the service. The military did a procedure that is no longer approved by the AMA. (It doesn’t work & caused too many serious complications).I was diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis in 1988. I still was active, athletic, had a horse, and became a dog trainer/obedience instructor. I hiked/walked miles throughout forests in New England. In 2000 my arches literally popped and I stand on the inside of my ankles. Doctors put me in afo’s on both legs. I began using a cane. Consequently, since I couldn’t feel the ground, I had many falls.

High Blood Pressure, Restless Leg Syndrome, Numbness in Left Shin, Neck and Back Pain
I’ve been having a lot of issues with my back for about 6 months now. I ruptured a disc in my low back & was incapacitated for weeks that got better but never 100%. I was also starting to get neck & shoulder pain & had been going to my massage therapist for it. I got better but she said that there wasn’t much more she could do for it & I should see Dr. Roth. I was very skeptical but she said that all her clients were very happy with him & that I would be fine. When I started seeing Dr. Roth I felt very comfortable & safe so I decided to go forward with the treatment.

Kidney Disorder, Migraines, Dizziness, Nausea
April 13th, 2010, I went to see Dr. Justin Roth after being referred by my naturopath for constant migraines. Upon arrival, all the doctors, not just Dr. Roth, introduced themselves & explained the philosophy of chiropractic. The atmosphere was very welcoming & peaceful, & made me feel at ease. Before treatment, Dr. Roth gave my mother & myself an interactive lesson in order to help us understand what a subluxation is, how it is diagnosed, & how it is treated. After one treatment, all my symptoms went away – including my headaches, dizziness, & nausea.

Frozen Shoulder, Chronic Headaches, and Hip Pain
I have always thought about Chiropractic care for my chronic hip pain & headaches. I never quite got there until I had an accident in July 2009 & broke the head of my humerus (shoulder fracture) in 2 places from a bad fall. I had been seeing Jill Massi upstairs in Massage Energy for about a year. She has been wonderful & helped provide a lot of relief from my chronic hip pain. The hip pain kept returning & she really felt it was time for me to see a chiropractor. She would get my hip in alignment but it just would not hold for any long period of time & the pain would return.
So I had many discussions regarding seeing a Chiropractor, but never made it my priority until September 09 when I was still in excruciating pain from the shoulder fracture. I now had what they called a frozen shoulder, which can occur as a complication from the fracture. You end with very limited motion and pain from scar tissue due to the large amounts of inflammation from the fracture. I could not sleep well at night, I would roll onto that shoulder and the pain would wake me up. I continually iced and took Motrin for the pain. It was difficult to do my activities of daily life, like blow-drying my hair, getting dressed, and any household chore that required me reaching over my head. I knew it was time to get help! I was going for massage and physical therapy, and under the care of an orthopedic surgeon, but that did not seem enough. I then started seeing Dr. Roth. I initially came in 3 times a week and have been very diligent about that, I then went down to 2 times a week, then one, and finally I am coming in every 2 weeks. In December my orthopedic surgeon told me he wanted to release the adhesions (scar tissue) in my shoulder that was limiting my motion. This is a huge surgery with many risks. I came in for my appointment just about in tears the same day and Dr. Roth suggested I seek another opinion. I did and the second opinion surgeon told me to wait it out and continue with what I am doing because I was seeing improvement from the couple of months I was getting chiropractic care. It is now May 2010 and I have seen great improvement in my shoulder mobility over the months. Dr. Roth has been doing shoulder adjustments and cervical neck adjustments on me, which have loosened up the scar tissue and improved the nerve signals from my spinal cord to my shoulder, therefore increasing my mobility. It is amazing for me to see the progress. I can blow dry my hair, dressing is not such a challenge anymore, and can reach over my head finally! I am shoulder pain free, which really started happening toward the beginning of the year. Dr. Roth has helped give me my life back! Not only has my shoulder mobility and pain improved but so did that nagging chronic hip pain I mentioned. I also suffered from chronic headaches. I would take Motrin 400mg one to two times at least every other day for years. I never realized I was living with such chronic pain daily until it went away! I know that sounds crazy but it just became my way of life. I learned to just accept the pain. I can say I have not taken Motrin now since Dr. Roth has been doing my cervical spinal alignments. The hip alignments have caused my hip pain to disappear! I can exercise again without any pain and when I sit for prolonged periods of time I don’t get up with hip pain anymore. I look at the hip pain and headache relief as a bonus to my Chiropractic Care, since that is not why I even started going! It really amazes me how subluxations can cause such a disruption in your overall health! As my neck alignment started getting better so did my shoulder pain and mobility. I could see the progression. I am really a believer now in Chiropractic care. The Chiropractic care I am receiving, my own exercising and determination to get better, and the massage therapy has all made a great impact in were I am today. I am now an advocate of Chiropractic Care and my only regret is that I did not start this treatment earlier in my life! Karen M.
Back Pain
Whether you are believer, on the fence or skeptical of Chiropractic medicine you must visit Dr. Justin Roth at Kensington Naturopathic Medical Center. I have been to many Chiropractors but Dr. Roth was the only one to explain every detail of the x-rays and provide a complete explanation of the course of treatment. Within the first 5 minutes of my first visit I knew I made the right choice. I have never had another Chiropractor spend that much time on an appointment.

Migraines Headaches
I've suffered from severe, persistent headaches for a good part of my adult life. These headaches prevented me from doing many things that I enjoy. I consulted several doctors with different specializations and no one was able to explain the cause of my headaches or recommend a treatment that produced real, positive results. Last year, several friends and co-workers recommended Dr. Roth. I went to see Dr. Roth last summer and I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism.
But what really got me, was that it was incredible to talk to a health care provider that actually listened to me, explained in detail what he thought was the root of my problem, and prescribed a clear, defined treatment to tackle my severe headaches. After my initial assessment, I started upper cervical chiropractic treatment with Dr. Roth. During the course of the treatment, Dr. Roth continually evaluated my progress, asked questions, and made sure my condition was improving as expected. Today, six months later, I can say that both the severity and the frequency of my headaches have decreased drastically and now I am able to do a lot of things I wanted to do before and simply couldn't do. I would like to thank Dr. Roth for helping improve my quality of life. Sincerely, Paula G.
Neck Pain, Wellness Maintenance, Sleep Insomnia
For 20 plus years, I suffered from tightness and pain on the left side of my neck which got progressively worse to the point that I could not sleep at night. At times I had to take pain killers to alleviate the pain. I tried different things to see if anything would alleviate my symptoms. I got massages on my neck but the pain continued. I exercised which gave some relief, but the symptoms would return. For one year, I faithfully went for chiropractic adjustments three times a week with hopes that my neck would get better, but the tightness and pain continued.
As a result, I stopped going to the chiropractor and thought that maybe I had arthritis in my neck and it was here to stay. Then on one of my annual visits with Dr. Ann Aresco, she recommended Dr. Roth. I told her that I had already been to the chiropractor and it did not work. However, Dr. Aresco said that Dr. Roth was a cervical chiropractor and would be the difference I needed. Even though I very skeptical and everything else failed, I decided to have hope and give it a try. I am happy to say that about 6 months of chiropractic adjustments by Dr. Roth, my neck felt pain free. As I continued treatment, the pain and tightness further alleviated even more. I would definitely highly recommend Dr. Roth because he, along with being very skilled at what he does, cares very much for his patients and is always ready to answer any questions orgo the extra mile for any patient of his. I am happy to say that 1 1/2 later, I feel like I have a brand new neck thanks to Dr. Roth!!!
Migraine Headaches, Dizziness, Nausea, Difficulty Breathing and Swallowing, Extreme Fatigue
Can’t eat. Can’t sleep. Can’t breathe. Can’t think. Can’t focus. I feel my heart skipping. My pounding head. Grinding my teeth away. I am spinning when I don’t move. My periods are awful. Something is not right with me. This is not me. WHAT? I should visit my regular doctor and talk to him about taking some anti-anxiety medication. Seriously? I am 42 years old. My life is full and very blessed. Great job, great kids, great husband. Financially sound. Is there something I am missing? How is it that at the most relaxed part of my 42 years I am now afflicted with these things?
I need medicine for anxiety? Seriously? It all started back 2 ½ years ago. I was sitting at my desk writing an email and tying my sneakers. I looked down and ZAP…darkness and everything started to go whoosh! I was very taken back. I actually called my son, who was 10 at the time, into my office so that I could remind him that if anything ever happened to Mommy that he shouldn’t hesitate to call 911 and that everything would be ok. I let him know I was not feeling very well. So there I sat, holding my head and trying to get over the electric shock feeling radiating through my front tooth. In a couple of hours I went to the emergency room. Knowing me as he did this was truly not normal and they were concerned. I explained my symptoms to the ER doctor. “I think it is something in my neck.” Poke, poke, poke. “No really, it is in my neck, I felt that is where it came from,” as I continued to poke my neck. Off for a CT-scan. No aneurysm, no tumor, all looked good. They sent me home with anti-nausea meds. A week later I had a high fever and a bad cold and the dizziness only got worse. My own doctor said it was a virus. More meds – steroids now. Seriously? Months go by and the dizziness is interfering with my life. Off to balance therapy. The migraines became more frequent and truly interfered with things. The therapist told me my neck was crooked and referred me to a neurologist. There wasn’t anything more she could do. I visited with my regular doctor and chiropractor. I got some relief from the migraines with my Chiropractor, but not enough. My regular doctor gave me some migraine medication. Now I needed the anti-nausea meds because all I did was throw-up which only made the migraines worse. I am too tired to walk my 3 miles a day. I am too tired to garden. I can’t get out of bed to start my day without forcing myself because I can’t sleep at night. I go on vacations and need a nap after breakfast. Mid-afternoon I can hardly keep my eyes open. Bedtime is after dinner, right? Seriously? My periods are irregular and sometimes twice a month. What the heck? Once is bad enough. Off to the OBGYN for my yearly check up and complain again...so the answer is you want to put me on the “pill”. My issue is hormones? Seriously? Hmmm…why now? “No thank you.” So I am in the middle of a conversation and lose my thought completely as I feel my heart stop and re-start. What was that? It happens again. It isn’t stopping, it is skipping. Seriously? I am not even thinking about my heart. Who feels their heart beat? Ever? Cardiologist says, “Yup, that is what you feel. It is ok though. These are good skipped and extra beats.” Uh…ok. My aching head. It will be ok tomorrow. Today I just need to throw up and keep my head under the pillow and tomorrow it will all go away. It did, but it was back again. Sometimes twice a week. I am so tired. Tired of feeling miserable. Tired of feeling my heart beat. Tired of feeling like I am choking. Tired of my aching head. I am so tired. This is so NOT me. So, to be sure I have got this straight. I need steroids, migraine medication, hormone pills and now anti-anxiety medication? I have received chiropractic care for the past 20+ years. At many times in my life it was truly a God sent gift to help what ailed me. Then I brought my bag of troubles to Dr. Aresco. We started working on identifying the true root cause of my symptoms. We weren’t trying to manage my symptoms. The symptoms can’t go away without removing the root cause. This makes total sense to me. I followed her lead and was feeling somewhat better. Some of my symptoms were lessoning, however some were just not budging. I was feeling I was at my whit’s end and she referred me to Dr. Roth. But I already see a Chiropractor. He is different in what way? Simply put, he has a specialty. Just like conventional doctors are all MDs, some are OBGYNs, Orthopedics, Endocrinologists and so on. I will go along and follow her lead. I am desperate now. I just want my life to be back to normal. MY NORMAL. Not what others tell me what it should be. So I had my first visit with Dr. Roth. We talked. He explained. I listened. He scanned me. I went for x-rays. We looked at them. We talked. He explained. I listened. I could not believe how far out of alignment my neck really was. I got adjusted. Within the first week I could feel my choking sensation had gone away. I wasn’t feeling like I couldn’t breathe as often. I had more visits, scans and adjustments. Into month two I went away for a long weekend with my husband. We traveled with a group of friends and getting a “good night sleep” was not something I could hope for while I was away. First night I got 4 hours. Sure as heck I was in for a day of napping and going to bed early. Guess what? Not a single nap and my husband dragged me to bed at 1:30 AM. Fluke, right? Few weeks later I realized it was happening all the time. By the beginning of month 3 I was back to having days where I could burn my candle at both ends. Seriously? Yes, this is my normal. Maybe this was working. I can’t remember the last time I felt rested or up for having a marathon day of anything. Being dizzy became a rarity. I found so did my migraines. Funny thing the dizziness and migraines seem to go hand in hand so if one should happen the other isn’t far behind. One day I got hit by the migraine and drove straight to see Dr. Roth. He scanned, poked at me. Then he asked me to stand with my arms spread apart in the doorframe. Ok I thought, anything that will take this away…it was almost immediate relief to my aching head. We did a few other adjustments. Then he asked if I had had a fall where I had to reach out and catch myself with my right arm. I looked at him and wondered how he could possibly know this. 6 months before my visit to the ER I fell down the stairs and had to catch myself so hard that within an hour of my fall I could not lift my right arm due to the pain in my shoulder. He poked around a bit more. Gave me some additional adjustments. Relief for my head. Could this be my root cause after all? Well I can happily say that I can’t remember the last time I felt my heart beat. My stamina is ever increasing. I am not clenching my teeth as much. Thinking is a joy again. Focusing is as easy as it used to be. I can swallow. I can breathe. I can do. This is ME! Adjustments have become less and less of a need. I am becoming adept at assessing my own needs with regards to what type of adjustments I need to keep myself in tune. I am writing this today because I feel strongly about sharing the lessons I have learned with others in an attempt to help them. I know hundreds of people. No exaggeration, hundreds who I have encountered in my life with many of these same complaints. Many of who are popping pills or taking drastic measures to cover their symptoms up, and not working to get themselves to the true root cause of their issues. I am sharing this with you as the reader to let you know you need to give it a try. It doesn’t hurt. Be patient. Be open. Be well.
Severe Headaches, Dizziness, Neck Pain, Low Back Pain
If there were a 6 out of 5 star option, I'd give Roth Family Chiropractic 6 stars. In every square inch of the office, you can sense Dr. Roth's professionalism, expertise, and - most importantly - how much he cares about his patients and his practice. I'm not kidding, even the bathroom is pristine. What makes Roth Family Chiropractic unique amongst chiropractors is the sense of empowerment that you feel as a patient. Dr. Roth doesn't merely treat you, he takes the time to educate you so that you understand your treatment and so that you can advocate for yourself.
He will sit you down and walk you through your X-rays so that you understand where you are starting from and what steps need to be taken to get you where you want to be. I initially started going to Dr. Roth earlier this year for frequent headaches along with dizziness when laying down. Not only have my headaches been greatly reduced, but my health has improved in other, unexpected ways. During my initial visit, Dr. Roth felt my lower back could tell from just that brief exam that I was having painful, irregular periods (I wouldn't have thought to tell him this). Ever since I've begun treatment, I've had less painful, more regular periods. I didn't expect this, but I am grateful for it. My advice would be: tell Dr. Roth about any ailments you have, even if you don't think they're related to your spine. Turns out practically everything can be improved with better spinal health! Needless to say, my quality of life has greatly improved since going to Roth Family Chiropractic. Less headaches means more time that I can spend awake and active. I'm also taking FAR fewer medications (ibuprofen, acetaminophen, naproxen, aspirin...you name it). I'm sure that my body will benefit from this in the long run! Lastly, I couldn't write this review without acknowledging the lovely ladies that work in this office! Katlynn and Chrissy are exceptional at their jobs. They are so friendly, kind, and not to mention hilarious. They make strong personal connections with all patients. They're accommodating and understanding...even if you call 30 minutes before an appointment and say you can't come (guilty!). (Roth Family Chiropractic is lucky to have you ladies!)
Chronic Migraines and Vertigo
I have been seeing Dr. Roth for Migraines and Vertigo. I have gone from daily occurrences of pain and dizziness to almost never. If I do have a symptom it is very minimal to what it was. Dr. Roth is a Cervical Chiropractor which is NOT the same as a 'Chiropractor'. Dr. Roth will cure you and not put a band-aid on your issues. I knew the minute I heard about the technique used and the first time he did the technique on me that this was something really, really good for me. I felt great from the first adjustment and every time I go I get better and better.
The outcome is going to last for a lifetime. I look better than I have in years. I had chronic neck tension along with my other conditions and now I realize it is not normal to feel that way. Migraines are not normal and all the doctors I saw before Dr. Roth sent me down months and years of wasted pursuits, drugs that had many side effects and not to mention the time and money you waste trying to figure out why you have these conditions. Dr. Roth is a class act and is professional and caring. He will explain to you why you are having whatever symptoms and how a cervical chiropractor can help. I was just about giving up and tired of not being able to plan anything for fear I would not feel well. A co-worker noticed me slumped at my desk in major pain when she told me about her condition. I am so grateful I listened to her and met with Dr. Roth. Had I not done that, I know I would not be in a good place. My life has completely changed for the better. I have my life back and for that I am sincerely grateful for what Dr. Roth did for me. Thank you, Dr. Roth. Sue C.
Neck Pain, Low Back Pain, Concussions, Sleep Insomnia
First off, I’m rather young; only 22 years I’ve been on this planet, and for 16 of them I’ve been playing hockey. After giving and receiving countless body checks and concussions, my entire body has evidently taken a beating. My sore muscles and bruises healed quickly over time, but my neck and back have not. There would be days where the discomfort wouldn’t bother me all that much. I was used to it as the rest of my body aches and pains seemed to balance it out. But there were others where I stayed home from school,
lying in bed all day just because moving the slightest was pure agony. No amount of Advil, muscle relaxers, or icyhot made it tolerable. I was only a teenager at the time, but I crept like an old man. My mother had been seeing Dr. Roth for some time as she has had back and neck pain for most of her later years. She suggested I go see him, and after some hesitation, I probably made the best decision for my health to this day. I went to my first consultation and Dr. Roth showed me exactly why I felt the pain I did. After seeing Dr. Roth 3 days a week and 3 months later, I felt like a new person. Not only did my daily pains vanish, but I slept much better at night, felt clear headed, and even felt my immune system improved! (I would suffer from the common cold what seemed like once a month). I continued to see Dr. Roth on and off for the next year or so, maintaining my alignment and feeling great. I then went off to college in Vermont, and ultimately transferred out to school in California, where I obviously didn’t have the privilege of seeing Dr. Roth for my monthly check-ups. I managed to pull my back out again, this time from lifting something much too heavy, and doing so the wrong way (should have used my legs and core, whoops!) At this time, I wasn’t battling my usual hockey injuries; however my daily pain and nightly insomnia were worse than when I was on the ice. I eventually returned to Connecticut where I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Roth waiting for me. After another re-exam, and some newly diagnosed subluxations, I’ve hopped back on the path to recovery yet again. Within just these past few months, I feel better than ever: I don’t have to constantly get up to stretch or crack my neck at the office, I’m back at the gym and lifting weights daily, and feel well rested each morning after not waking up 3 times a night. My quality of life has undoubtedly improved. Thank you Dr. Roth for making me feel my age again!
Carpal Tunnel
I am usually a man of few words, but excuse me while I explode. Honestly I can’t let another day go by without acknowledging the difference you made in my life. If my letter appears a bit detailed, it’s because I am hoping that you will share it with existing and future patients. I was recommended to Dr. Roth because I was seeking a second opinion on the cause of numbness in my thumb, pointer & middle finger; as well my arms and hands were so painful I could not sleep. As a result, I could not pick up or hold items and my wife had to even button my shirts for me.
As my body began to tighten and deteriorate, I experienced shooting pain in my feet when I golfed which left me with no choice, but to give up my golf membership at Wethersfield Country Club. If that wasn’t enough pain, I began to notice that my back was becoming stiff and I could not turn side to side which made it very difficult to drive. The original doctor had quickly determined, just by hearing details of my condition, that I should have an operation for Carpal Tunnel in both wrists. Dr. Roth, on the other hand, took X-rays and said my problem came from my axis bones . . . the top 6 vertebrae. Within a few months I started noticing changes and I was truly feeling better. Now!!!! A year and a half later:I can walk 18 holes of golf with no pain,I can swing a golf club without pain in my hands and wrists and I can actually pick up a dime off the floor and button my own shirt. Dr. Roth . . . your expertise, knowledge and experience has been a miracle for me. You have changed my life! Dr. Roth gave me back the quality of life I so dearly missed and took away my fear of losing my ability to age gracefully. 2016, because of Dr. Roth, will be a year of celebration for me. At 69 years old, I have rejoined the Wethersfield Country Club and the Men’s Club Thursday Golf League. I will be taking a ski trip to Aspen, Colorado to celebrate my son's birthday on the ski slopes. My wife and I will be celebrating our 42nd Wedding Anniversary in Jamaica swimming and golfing and living life without restriction. The frosting on the cake is that I will have the most wonderful summer with my grandchildren because I can move, be active and be pain free to enjoy life.
Fibromyalgia
My name is Teri Bourget. I have been a chiropractic patient for over 30 years due to having a 'negative' cervical spinal curve. Originally from California, I saw my first chiropractor and since moving to Connecticut in 1987, I have seen several others, off and on, over the years. I had been off of chiropractic care and in 2011, my “initiation” with fibromyalgia began. It started with various, unrelated medical issues strung out over the course of five years from Meniere’s-like symptoms, followed by TMD, carpal tunnel and tennis elbow pain, unrelenting back pain, migraines.
And then finally my entire body would be in pain, in different intensities. Different times of the day, from day to day; I had no energy, I felt as if I had the flu all of the time and I went into depression, isolated myself, rarely left the house and my bedroom became my haven and cocoon. (I am normally a very active and outgoing person.) Before seeing Dr. Roth, I had gone the typical route of seeing one medical specialist after another, who would not be able to diagnose me, but instead, would write out a prescription for medication. Between pain relievers, muscle relaxers, migraine, anti-depressants, anti-anxiety and a variety of fibromyalgia medications with all of their side effects...my body became chemically toxic and I was miserable. I literally felt like a zombie. It was horrible. When the neck pain and migraines worsened, I decided to see Dr. Roth, who has a very good reputation as a highly skilled chiropractor and for being the best chiropractor in the state in Connecticut! Patients come from out of state to be treated by him. The fact that he is very handsome is just a bonus! LoL I think that I am one of Dr. Roth's most 'difficult' patients because with fibromyalgia, I am always in some sort of pain, so I always have something to whine about whenever I go to see him. I have always been amazed with Dr. Roth's intuitiveness with his hands and being able to point out exactly where my “pain of the day” would be, without me even having to point it out! I have been under Dr. Roth's “pharmaceutical-free” treatment since 2015, starting out at 3 days per week for 3 months; and now I see him once per week. With Dr. Roth's successful treatments of correcting several of my subluxations, I rarely have migraines, dizziness or TMJ pain and the carpal tunnel & tennis elbow pain has subsided substantially. For other patients with fibromyalgia, if you do not already know this, it “takes a village” to treat fibromyalgia and Dr. Roth is definitely the chiropractor that you want in your 'your village'. Stress triggers and worsens fibromyalgia flare-ups and for the first few years, I was constantly stressed out, frustrated, worried and confused about the symptoms that no other doctor could clearly diagnose or treat (I thought that I was losing my mind!)-so, I was in the worst pain ever. But since 'accepting' that I have this chronic illness, I have also accepted that I had to make life-changing adjustments to my lifestyle, know my physical limitations, learn how to pace myself and to perform daily household tasks ergonomically (or not do them at all! LoL) In addition to the “good hands” of Dr. Roth, being weaned off medications, taking herbs and supplements, the rest of “my village” includes a physical therapist, therapeutic yoga classes and a psychotherapist (to deal with the impact fibromyalgia has made on my life). I am finally starting to feel like myself again after five very long years. I own a dance company and I am dancer, performing and teaching artist. I obviously had to retire from dancing, however, I have other dancers who perform for the company. Now I am inspired to pursue certification as a yoga instructor so that I can teach therapeutic yoga to others with chronic pain; which is the perfect career adjustment for me. Dr. Roth had told me in the beginning, that I will eventually have my energy, drive and determination back, and he was right!
Kids and Wellness Care
My children, Michael, 13, and Molly, 10, have been seeing Dr. Roth on a regular basis for the last 6 years. I first took Michael when his primary care doctor detected a slight curvature in his spine. Conventional treatment for this would be to X-ray Michael every year to determine if his spine had changed from the previous year. I did not like the idea of so many X-rays due to radiation exposure, and decided treatment from an Upper Cervical Chiropractor would be best. Michael has been amazing ever since he started receiving adjustments.
My daughter, Molly, also sees Dr. Roth on a regular basis as I believe one of the best preventative measures against chronic diseases, is keeping proper alignment of the body. I am so thankful Dr. Roth is here to help us maintain our health without the use of pharmaceuticals, surgery or any other treatment that has adverse side effects. Thank you, Dr. Roth! -Amy W.
Mid and Low Back Pain, Back Spasms
When I was 18 years old I went cliff diving. I jumped off a cliff about 40 feet in the air and landed on a rock about 2 feet below the water surface. I seriously injured my right side lower back. I went to a back specialist and he told me my back was spasming. He gave me muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatory drugs. I went to rehab and received electric sim and did special stretches. At the time I was running and exercising a lot and had to stop completely. Nothing seem to work and I gave up trying to fix my problem.
I am now 35 and have been so lucky to have Dr. Roth take me on as a patient. After only 2 adjustments I could feel a tremendous difference. It is impossible to articulate the amount of relief I have felt from my adjustments. I am running and playing tennis again. Every day I am feeling less pain. I am frustrated it took so long for me to find Dr. Roth, but am so grateful I did.
...
Approximately two and a half years ago I began experiencing pain in my neck. Over time, it became chronic and severe. There was no relief sitting down or lying down. I could not turn my head either direction. Therefore, driving was difficult. As it progressed I could not push a grocery cart, bend down to take laundry out of the dryer, or do many other everyday things. I could not sleep more than 3-4 hours a night due to pain. Then I would have some degree of pain, ranging from moderate to severe, during the day. Sometimes it would affect my balance and even my vision.
Over the course of the two and a half years, I had many appointments with an orthopedic surgeon, neurosurgeon, neurologist and a pain management doctor. I was given four cortisone shots over periods of time, some prescriptions for pain, muscle relaxation medication, and over the counter pain medications, most with side effects that prevented me from driving, etc.
I had thought about a Chiropractor but mine had retired and moved away. I did not know what to do next. The pain now had become all day, every day and was beginning to depress me and increase my anxiety. An acquaintance, whom I did not see very often, suggested I try her Chiropractor. I had nothing to lose and a lot to hope for. I decided to give Doctor Roth a try back in late September.
Since the beginning of October, I have been coming 3 times a week, every week. After a couple of weeks things were not getting and I felt discouraged. I almost stopped coming. Doctor Roth said it basically took two and a half years to get in the pain situation I was in and it would take a while to begin to see results. I am glad I stayed with the treatment plan.
I can now sleep better and do not take very much over the counter pain meds any more. I am careful what I do and make sure I don't skip an appointment to keep up with the progress.
Doctor Roth felt he could get me about 80% relief. While things are not perfect, which is understandable, I would say things are very much better, to about that 80%.
The pain is greatly reduced, and I can do most daily household chores. I can drive more, and I can now push that grocery cart.
I am grateful to Doctor Roth for getting me to an acceptable level of comfort and back to being able to do everyday things.

Neck Pain, Shoulder Pain, Tingling and Numbness in Arm and Hand, Loss of Balance
I am a 50-year-old hairdresser who felt like I was in a 70-year old’s body. I was schedule for a corpectomy surgery before I met Dr. Roth. My orthopedic surgeon wanted to remove not only my C5 and C6 discs in my neck but the vertebrae in between as well because they were putting pressure on my spinal cord. Not only was I experiencing tingling and numbness in my right arm, hand and had a loss of balance, I could also feel the pressure in my neck from the stenosis. I was down to one semi-comfortable sleeping position.
A long day of cutting hair would create tension in my neck and shoulder area that wouldn’t quit. I was told without surgery; I would eventually not be able to work; not something you want to hear when you’re trying to raise 3 kids! The surgery itself is nasty business, six weeks or more recovery time and being self-employed that means no pay for me as well as no driving in that time frame. In my business, I come in contact with a lot of people who had a lot of opinions about fusion surgery and chiropractic treatment. I know there are good and bad chiropractors but I didn’t like the odds of surgery being that most fusion patients end up back for more surgery and I didn’t want that to be me so I stayed hopeful. I was finally recommended by my 81-year-old client Dorothy, whom I respect very much, raved about Dr. Roth saving her from shoulder surgery that I should schedule an appointment with Dr. Roth. Scared and skeptical, I went to his website (which was very educational) and had a glimmer of hope that this could possibly work.
First of all, his office girls Katlynn and Chrissy have the most upbeat, sweetest dispositions and really make you feel welcome. Dr. Roth was very patient, took his time and answered all my questions. He is very confident and knowledgeable about his craft and truly believes in what he does. I found out how and why this happened and what could be done to fix it. The how and why was something my orthopedic just chalked up to age and heredity conditions. It’s now been 5 months since cancelling the surgery and opting for treatment with Dr. Roth. I forgot how feeling well was supposed to feel like. My movements are more fluent, my sleeping is back to normal and there is a host of other improvements I didn’t expect such as better concentration and the ability to keep up with my children and yes, they’re seeing Dr. Roth as well.
Very grateful to Dr. Roth and his amazing staff!
Hip pain, Numbness in feet and hands
A few years ago, I started doing a lot of activities I had never done before such as running, biking, swimming, and golf. Prior to that I hadn’t really been an inactive person, but I also had never been athletic, so after a while I started having hip pain and then my feet and hands started going numb. Right about that time Dr. Roth came to the Bank to do his presentation. I had never considered going to a chiropractor before, but I couldn’t live with the numbness, and I’m not one for taking pain relievers, so I needed to do something.
A lot of what he said at that presentation sounded familiar. I had a lot of the symptoms he talked about, so I decided to do the evaluation to see what it was all about. He took a great deal of time to explain what he could see in the x-rays, let me know how he could help and answered questions I had (I ask a lot of questions… occupational hazard)
He then gave me a detailed explanation of how the process would work so that I had all the information I needed to decide if I wanted to go forward with the sessions.
During the initial three days a week/three-month session, not only did he do the adjustments needed, but he also gave me stretches and other things I needed to do at home to further my progress. For me, I really liked having something I could do for myself not only during that process, but I still use some of these stretches on a regular basis to keep some of the aches and pains at bay. The numbness and hip pain went away.
Because I still do all these activities and others on a regular basis, aches and pains are basically a daily occurrence, and when I go for an adjustment every few weeks now, he really listens when I tell him about issues I’m having and, when needed, he takes the time to
explain what is causing the issue and what I need to do at home to further help it improve.
I feel that he has not only helped with the issues I originally had but has also given me some tools I can use on a regular basis when aches and pains return.
Thanks!

Urinary Tract Infections
My name is Cathy and I’m 76 years young. For the past 20 years I suffered from incredibly painful and unbarring near constant urinary tract infections. It got to the point I would end antibiotics only to have to restart them 2-3 days later as the infection returned. A friend suggested that I meet and discussed this with Dr. Roth. It took much coaxing for me to say okay, but I finally did, and I am so happy I did. I made the appointment with Dr. Roth and he gave me the greatest relief of knowing he could help me.
I am now 4 months into treatment and since my first adjustment I have been completely free from any bladder infection and still 4 months later still have not had a UTI! He is also helping my neck as the muscles and tendons were causing me to have less mobility and wasn’t allowing me to do what I was used to. It has been such an amazing road so far and I feel so much better! I am so relieved to be off antibiotics and to be completely free of any infection. Thank you so much Dr. Roth and all the staff at Roth Family Chiropractic I am so happy to have met such wonderful people and such an amazing doctor!

Vision Problems, Multiple Sclerosis
Hi, my name is Mark and I have an amazing story about the problems that I have been living with for the last 10 years. I have seen several neurologists over this period of time for problems with my vision. I’ve had a handful of diagnosis, one of them being M.S. On top of vision problems my body is in rough shape. Lower back surgery, neck injury due to whiplash and the list goes on and on. I’ve taken medication for the M.S., and every pill you could think of for the pain. Every avenue that I have taken to help has failed.
My wife just recently discovered Dr. Roth here in our own town. She made an appointment for me to see him and I told her that I wouldn’t go because it’s a waste of time. I didn’t think a chiropractor would be of any help. I was VERY WRONG. I met Dr. Roth and we talked for a while and he explained to me about the misconceptions of chiropractic and explained to me how he could help. After having what seemed like a complete skeletal x-ray, I was shown by Dr. Roth what I looked like on the inside. I almost got sick when I saw how bad I was compared to a healthy spine. I had no idea. From the very first adjustment my life has totally changed. Instantly, my vision was the first thing that changed. For the first time in a long time I could see clear again. I now also can turn my head completely and my neck pain and stiffness is going away. I am currently seeing Dr. Roth to continue his plan to correct my spine. Finally, after all these years I caught a break by discovering Dr. Roth. He changed my LIFE. -Mark G.
8 Months of Constant Nerve Pain in the Neck and Down the Right Arm, Frozen Shoulder
I have always been a advocate of chiropractic care and when I experienced a case of whiplash in September, 2010, I immediately went to the chiropractor I had been seeing for several years to help sort out the tight, uncomfortable muscles and the limited range of motion in my left arm. Dr Tony was very intrigued at the symptoms I was experiencing and suggested that I have x-rays taken of my neck to rule out any other issues that may be going on. Traditional x-rays determined that there was some minor compression in my C5-C6 discs,
but for the most part, the results of the exam were “benign”. Traction of my neck, and traditional chiropractic adjustment relieved the symptoms for only a short period of time, however, I continued to experience limited range of motion in my left shoulder and arm while nerve pain began to generate from the right side of my neck down into my right shoulder and arm. In the early part of October, 2010, it was recommended that I see an orthopedic doctor (by a family member practicing in the traditional medical arena), to help assess the symptoms and find solutions to this “neck/shoulder/arm” thing. The orthopedic doctor identified an “arthritic shoulder” and stated that he could replace it, but in the mean time physical therapy could help address the “frozen shoulder”. He did not address the nerve pain that I was experiencing but did identify that it was coming from my neck and NOT my shoulder. I went to physical therapy sessions 3x’s a week for 2 weeks, and found that the pain had increased in my left arm and that the nerve pain in my neck generating down my right arm was increasing as well. Physical therapy stopped and a trip to a Neurologist, in December became my new venture. Nerve conduction tests were then administered in both my arms. A neck MRI was ordered and revealed “no impingement or obstruction, no herniated disc or tumor was present.” Results: “Benign”. The neurologist was a bit surprised but suggested a muscle relaxer, (injection to reduce spasms and oral to reduce the pain). Mild pain pills were prescribed to reduce the discomfort as well as inflammation. I’m not a pill taker, so reluctantly; I succumbed to the daily routine of taking prescribed medication just to function. Blow drying my hair, dressing, and general everyday functioning was a challenge. Because I was so uncomfortable, sleeping was also disrupted. I was exhausted, in pain and still I did not have any answers and nothing was helping. In May, 2011, a friend told me about Dr Justin Roth and how he had basically “cured” her of her chronic and very debilitating migraines. She recommended that I contact him to see if he could help with my neck/shoulder/arm issues. I didn’t hesitate. I phoned the office and was immediately scheduled for the “Roth Series” of x-rays of my cervical spine. These x-rays were different from the traditional cervical spine x-rays that were administered initially, so I knew that this approach would help to identify the “cause”. Dr Roth immediately identified the problem. My C1 & C2 (Atlas & Axis) cervical discs were out of alignment causing disruption in the normal neurological process. FINALLY, an answer, this made sense. Dr Roth was extremely empathic to my process and explained in detail the mechanics of the cervical spine. He helped me to understand how everything is connected and the importance of the positioning of the Atlas and the Axis and their role in the “everyday functioning” of the body. I intuitively knew that my body was in a traumatized state, but was at a loss as to how I could help it to resume its natural balance. The nerve pain that I was experiencing for 8 months was gone after 1 adjustment with Dr Roth. It was “magic.” I continued to see him 3 times a week to monitor my adjustments and then to 2 times a week and then to once a week to monitor how my adjustments are “holding”. I continue to progress in my healing. Due to the extended period of time that my Atlas & Axis were out of alignment, (due to improper diagnosis) nerve disruption and muscle atrophy occurred causing me to continue to struggle with “everyday movement in both my shoulders. Dr Roth has referred me to an exercise physiologist who is helping to strengthen my muscles in my shoulders and arms and every day a little progress is made. I am on the path to regaining my very active lifestyle. This entire experience has been very humbling, it has taught me many things. I have also learned that traditional medical practitioners, although well intended, may not have all the answers. I still struggle to “blow dry” my hair, however, I am sleeping through the night, I no longer have to rely on pain medication to get me through the day, and I know that soon, I will be swinging a golf club, practicing yoga, and focusing on life, not pain. Dr (Magic) Roth has been a Blessing and I will forever be grateful. Barbara August 2011
Migraines
I have been suffering from migraines for 20 years. It has been absolutely awful, the past 11 years especially. The headaches continued to get worse and worse to the point that I would have a migraine 50% of the time. Not only was it a struggle to be in such severe pain, but I was heartbroken over the lost time with my husband and daughter. I was not even capable to keep a full time job. I searched for treatment over the years from nearly every possible outlet. I tried every medication and visited numerous neurologists. Nothing stopped the frequency.
I was only able to bandage the pain. I was ready to give up but my husband was not. One day a friend told him about Upper Cervical Chiropractic. He did the research and found Dr. Roth. I have been seeing Dr. Roth for a little more than a year now. I am happy to report that my migraines have gone from 15 per month to 3 or 4 times per month and I am so HAPPY! The difference Dr. Roth has made in my health and quality of life is immense. My family is thrilled and I am proud to report that after 3 years of not being able to work I am finally working again. Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. Roth! Sincerely, Amanda A.
Chronic Asthma/Bronchitis, Persistent Fatigue and Immune Suppression
I have been under conventional chiropractic care for the past 6 months to address various spinal subluxations and health complaints the most prevalent being chronic asthma/bronchitis, persistent fatigue, and an overall suppressed immune system. Prior to being treated by Dr. Roth I felt that my health improvements have disappointingly reached a plateau under the care of my other health care providers which include a chiropractor, primary care and pulmonary physicians, and an endocrinologist.
I was often sick, exhausted, and prone to frequent bouts with bronchitis/asthma flare-ups that would take weeks and sometimes months to recover from. Such flare-ups greatly impeded my active lifestyle and were depressing. Out of concern a close friend of mine referred me to Dr. Justin Roth. Her glowing assessment of Dr. Roth’s capability and successes with a wide range of patients immediately motivated me to schedule an appointment with him. After just one month of treatment in Dr. Roth’s care, I not only felt my asthma improving but the dreadful and persistent fluid in my airway was finally alleviated. During my most recent onset of bronchitis, I had an appointment with Dr. Roth for an adjustment. Typically, with the onset of bronchitis I am sick for 4 to 6 weeks and recovery is slow and painful. Yet after my adjustment I was breathing much easier and was stunned by the improvement. With a subsequent adjustment by Dr. Roth I felt further improvement and no longer worry about losing weeks of my time nursing my health. My bronchitis lasted under a week and although I still have a minor cough, I feel peppy and energetic too. I have never recovered as quickly or in such a spectacular manner before. My only regret is not finding Dr. Roth sooner! Respectfully submitted, Cinda L.
Herniated Disk, Severe Neck Pain, Hip Pain, Shoulder Pain
Before coming to Dr. Roth I was told I would have to have spinal surgery due to a herniated disk in my neck. That would involve going through the front of my throat, past my vocal cords, and into my spinal cord. The herniated disk would've been removed and replaced with bone matter that would've been taken from my hip. In addition, I would've had screws to help operate my neck properly to make up for the lack of movement. There was no guarantee given that this would fix the problem.
It would've been at least a 2 week recovery time and an expensive, risky surgery. There would've been permanent damage to my spine that, in my opinion, would've have a domino effect on the rest of my vertebrae over time, causing more problems. This started in January 2016 and continued to get worse until the end of March, when I finally saw Dr. Roth. I was in a lot of pain everyday all the time. I was having trouble sleeping, driving, and just sitting. I started to lose feeling in my thumb and experienced numbness down my right arm. In that time, I was going to physical therapy, getting X Ray's and an MRI to try and figure out what was going on. The physical therapy was making it worse and I was starting to think I would never feel back to normal again. It was very upsetting because I had not had any accidents or traumatic situations to cause this problem - I just woke up with the overwhelming pain one morning. After being told I would need surgery to hopefully fix the problem, I decided to get one last opinion from Dr. Roth. The orthopedic doctor had told me that a chiropractor wouldn't be able to help but I had to at least try! After reviewing my X Ray's, MRI, and initial exam Dr. Roth assured me that he could help me and that my body would heal with the right adjustments, time, and exercises. After seeing him for just a month 3x a week, I started getting feeling back into my hand and arm! That pain I was experiencing was almost all gone and I could sleep, drive, and move around 100x better than before. Now that I've been seeing Dr. Roth going on 5 months, I would say my neck is 95% better. The pain and numbness in my hand and arm have never returned and I don't expect it to. I know that as I continue seeing him I will see 100% improvement! Not only is my neck better but I also learned a lot about the importance of taking care of your body, especially your spine. It's connected to everything and have a huge effect on how your body functions. Dr. Roth has also worked on adjusting my hips and shoulder which I didn't even realize were a problem until I felt the difference after adjustments! I am so glad that I didn't listen to the other doctor and that I was recommended to Dr. Roth. Coming to him has definitely changed my life because I know if I had gone through with surgery I would've had negative effects forever. Dr. Roth is an excellent, trust worthy doctor & person that I would recommend to anyone without hesitation. I am forever grateful for his help! Elizabeth J.
Ear Infections, Digestion Problems
In May of 2015, my 3 year old daughter Sophia fell and broke her clavicle. She was put into a sling for 6 weeks and the bone healed well; we never thought this injury could instigate other issues for her. However, a few months later she started having digestion issues, mostly problems with dairy. This wasn’t a huge shock for us considering I had the same issues as a child. Once winter came she had ear infection after ear infection, basically once a month for 4 months. Her hearing was declining and she wasn’t passing her hearing tests.
We were referred to an ENT by the audiologist and as soon as she looked at Sophia, she started talking about putting tubes in her ears. I knew a little bit about this procedure and didn’t feel it was the right choice. The same day we visited the ENT I was telling a coworker about my worries about the tubes and she suggested seeing a chiropractor. She had a similar experience with her son and was working for a chiropractor at the same time. Her son started getting adjustments and his ear infections stopped. She recommended Dr. Roth and the moment we walked into his office, my motherly instinct told me we had made the right choice! After about a month of getting adjustments twice a week I noticed a huge difference in her hearing and with her digestion issues. She no longer takes lactaid tablets and I don’t have to stand right in front of her so she can hear me. Her hearing was so poor she needed me to turn the volume way up in the car so she could hear the music and the same for when she watched T.V. Now she can hear at a much more reasonable volume. Everyone in this office is so pleasant and professional. I always tell everyone about the wonderful experience we have had here and would recommend Dr. Roth in a heartbeat.
Neck Pain
I started coming here on a recommendation from my sister in law. I had severe neck pain every morning upon waking up. Justin did ex-rays and determined that not only were the bones in my neck locked in place, but my spine was severely out of alignment. We’ve worked on my neck and back for 1 month so far, 3 times a week and I feel 100% better. I no longer wake up with a painfully stiff neck, my head's range of motion has improved dramatically, and my posture is improving. Dr Roth is truly a master of his craft and I am grateful to be able to sleep better and play with my kids without severe pain.
...Low back & migraines
I started going to Dr. Roth around the end of August and could not be any happier with my results. I have a spinal fusion that spans majority of my back which causes me to have limited range of motion and random low back spasms. I also struggled with migraines on and off for most of my life. Dr. Roth has increased my mobility, especially in my low back, and completely rid me of back spasms and migraines. I also was in a car accident in the middle of October in which I suffered from whip-lash and a concussion. Him and his WONDERFUL staff are helping me to get better each and every day. I highly recommend booking your first visit as soon as possible if you’ve been thinking about getting then help you DESERVE
...Low back pain
Dr Roth (and his staff) are one of the most friendly and accommodating practices. I started seeing Dr Roth because I had an unknown spinal injury, lower back pain, irritability in the morning and numbness in ligaments. I could barely do a squat at the gym! My back would hurt terribly after sleeping and I could barely get up after sitting for long periods of time. I was very limited in my range of motion when exercising due to my many spinal subluxations. After seeing Dr. Roth for 4 months or so I am now currently in a maintenance program and cannot believe the difference in my everyday living, range of motion, mood and sleep.
...Overall Health
Dr. Roth and his staff are great! So friendly and really a pleasure to be around. I have seen a couple chiropractors before and never actually knew what it was that was wrong with me until I finally came to see Dr. Roth! He actually took the time to show me my x-rays and explain to me what was happening. After seeing him I am feeling so much better in every aspect of my life, sleeping better, less headaches, more energy, less tense feeling and more flexible, not to mention I've even lost over 20 lbs since I started being adjusted 3 months ago! I don't leave reviews often but this place is well worth a visit! Very grateful to have found this practice!
...Back pain
I have been seeing Dr. Roth for a few months now for chronic back pain that has been plaguing me for a very long time. I never thought I could go a day without pain and now I do. When I have a flare up, it settles much faster than ever before. He has tricks and stretches to address specific issues and takes the time to hear what you have going on so he can address it. I often feel that doctors lose the relationship with patients and don’t really have time to care about the person versus the illness but I have never felt that way here. From the first time I walked in the door to my current appointments, I have always felt that Dr Roth and his team want to help!
Dr. Roth takes the time to listen and support, answer any questions and makes each patient feel they are a priority. Not a lot of doctors do that anymore. But he does. He will take the extra time to walk you through everything, even if it means he stays late. Each appointment you are greeted by his wonderful staff who remember your name and ask how you are.
I can’t speak highly enough of this practice and refer him regularly to friends and family. Including my niece, who at 12 was standing straighter and in less pain in just a week! Thank you, Dr Roth and team!
...Neck pain
I have lost some of my natural curvature in my neck and recently experienced an incredibly painful pinched nerve in my c6. My fingers went numb and my arm felt constantly cramped. Nothing relieved the pain, not heat or ice or stretching. I suffered through typical dr appointments and pain killers that don't ease nerve pain for me in the slightest.
I found Roth Family Chiropractic when I realized my former chiropractor retired, and I could not be happier with my care. Regular adjustments, posture exercises and a very caring staff has helped me on my steady increase in mobility and decrease in pain.
I was so grateful for someone who said, 'I can help you' without wanting to bounce me around to 3 other doctors or centers that may or may not even want to take on new patients during the upheaval of a pandemic.
I have a long way to go and will be diligent about maintenance, but I am so grateful for Dr. Roth. I am starting to resume my daily activities with some modifications, and I am so happy with the progress I have made with chiropractic care
...Back pain
I have been seeing Dr. Roth now on and off for a couple of years and he is amazing! The staff here are always so friendly and genuine. I hadn’t been in to see him in about a year and ended up coming back emergently with severe back pain and muscle spasms. He didn’t give me any flack for having slacked off on treatment for the last year. Instead, we came up with a new game plan and he got me feeling better within a week and now I’m back to coming regularly so I can maintain my spinal health! I have never once have I felt judged or uncomfortable here!! He explains everything in a manner that you can understand and will answer any questions you can think of!!
...Sciatic Pain
Dr Roth came highly recommended to me by several different people. Before then, I had gone to a different Chiropractor who treated my symptoms but never took time to figure out and treat the cause. I had also visited several doctors that all told me my only option would be surgery when I got older. Dr. Roth started with X-rays on the first visit, and showed me where all my issues were in my spine, not just the one I was complaining about, and how long they had been there based on the X-ray readings. I immediately felt some relief from my sciatic pain after the first few adjustments, and over time, the pain was lessening as my flexibility and mobility was increasing because my spine was loosening up and each individual vertebra was moving freely again. As an added bonus, my scoliosis curvature has been reduced and continues to improve with each adjustment. I was initially placed on restrictive activity to allow my spine a chance to heal, and today I can participate fully in my martial arts classes pain free. I'm so grateful to my friends for recommending me to Dr. Roth, and I would highly recommend him to anyone who has a spine issue. Thank you Dr. Roth!!!
...Back/Neck pain
Wish I could give 10 stars! Roth Family Chiropractic is the 3rd chiropractic office I have tried. From my first appointment I knew it was going to be different. All of the staff and Dr. Roth deeply care about each and every patient, and it shows in everything they do. Dr. Roth was the first doctor to fully explain what was causing my back and neck pain, and made a road map for how he was going to help. Also love that he has an X-Ray machine on site - my last doctor I had to go to a separate facility.
At one of my old chiropractor's offices I would have to wait 30/45 minutes to be taken in because he was always running behind, but every appointment I have had so far with Dr. Roth has been about right on time (I have been going 3X a week for almost 2 months now). My back/neck pain has severely decreased and I am almost living a normal life again! So happy I found Dr. Roth!
...Overall health
I’ve been seeing Dr. Roth now for a few weeks. The results I’ve been experiencing have been dramatically positive and eye opening. The reduction in pain that I’m experiencing is resulting in a higher quality of life. I am getting more sleep and waking up refreshed. My outlook on life is much more optimistic and I find myself looking forward to events again. I am completing my work without it being completely taxing and I’m finding out that I have more to give. I’m excited to give my treatment more time, and to see how much better I will become.
...Low neck/upper back pain
I can’t thank Dr Roth and his crew enough. My issue was severe upper back pain under the right shoulder blade. Scale of 10 pain. I thought it was muscle strain caused by too much computer / zoom activity (work) or golf (changed my swing a little this year). I spent a lot of time with my back on ice/hot when the problem started. OTC pain meds had no effect. Diagnosed as pinched nerve C7, C6 by my GP. An initial course of steroids helped the pain but the recommendation was physical therapy and maybe surgery to correct the problem.
After a recommendation to see Dr Roth first I gave it a shot. His X-Rays revealed phase 2 degeneration in the cervical spine and several subluxations C2~C7. The treatment was adjustments/PT 3 times a week for 3 months with exercises and then take a look at the Xray’s again for improvement. I’m 90% through the plan and feeling like a new person. The pain subsided after a few visits. Back and lumbar alignment included. It’s back to cold weather to golfing again - more flexible than I’ve felt in a long time.
I can’t say enough! Dr Roth is very skilled. So glad I went this way instead of the road to surgery.
...Neck Pain
I am usually a man of few words, but excuse me while I explode. Honestly I can’t let another day go by without acknowledging the difference you made in my life. If my letter appears a bit detailed, it’s because I am hoping that you will share it with existing and future patients.
I was recommended to Dr. Roth because I was seeking a second opinion on the cause of numbness in my thumb, pointer and middle finger; as well my arms and hands were so painful I could not sleep.
Now!!!! A year and a half later: I can walk 18 holes of golf with no pain, I can swing a golf club without pain in my hands and wrists and I can actually pick up a dime off the floor and button my own shirt.
Dr. Roth . . . your expertise, knowledge and experience has been a miracle for me.
The frosting on the cake is that I will have the most wonderful summer with my grandchildren because I can move, be active and be pain free to enjoy life.
...Headaches & low back
I first started seeing Dr. Roth for headaches and lower back pain. He took x-rays and explained them in great detail so I understood where the problems were coming from. He explained the treatment plan and the duration. The adjustments I received resolved the headaches and lower back pain, they have disappeared. I had to return for treatment for new issues, numbness and tingling in my hands. Just after a few adjustments, this has greatly improved and I'm positive will be resolved when treatments are completed. Everyone in the office is great and goes out of their way to help you. Very courteous and professional.
...Low back pain
I’ve started treatment with Dr. Roth almost 3 months ago. My only complaint was lower back pain. However, after the initial visit Dr. Roth pointed out more issues. At first, I was a little hesitant because the treatment he recommended looked intense to me but now I see huge improvement and I understand that he couldn’t “fix” everything fast since I had more issues with my spinal cord. In addition, a couple years ago my PCP recommended a blood test since I complained of being severely tired, with muscles and joints being very painful, I could not sleep well, I would wake up tired every day. After all, my PCP told me that he doesn’t see anything wrong as blood tests came back normal. After seeing Dr. Roth for treatment all those issues disappeared. I have no pain whatsoever, I sleep better, I am well rested all the time, I am not tired anymore, even my vision improved and overall I am in a better mood. I didn’t think that all of those issues could be related to my spinal cord being out of alignment. Great office with friendly Staff.
...Shoulder Pain
Hands down, the best chiropractor I've been to since moving to Connecticut 10 years ago! Came in with some serious shoulder pain and very limited motion, and now 2 months later shoulder pain is gone and my life is back to normal. I have already referred my family to Roth Family Chiropractic, and I highly recommend and urge you to see Dr. Roth for any issues you may be experiencing. Thanks again Dr. Roth!
...Chronic Headaches & Compartment Syndrome
I have nothing but amazing things to say about Dr.Roth. When I first started my treatment, I started due to having chronic headaches. I had a headache every single day. My way of dealing with it was taking Advil in the morning with my coffee and Advil pm to help me sleep through the night with my headache. Within a week and a half of treatment my headaches went away and I haven’t taken Advil since. I’m two months in and I couldn’t be happier. I also mentioned to Dr.Roth that I had something called compartment syndrome in both of my shins, and instead of referring me out, and telling me I need surgery like all of my other doctors did, Dr.Roth said “I really think I can help you with that” so I have now started getting adjustments for that too and it’s the most relief I have had with them! Start your treatment today, it will be the best decision you have made!! I am back to my endless hiking adventures, gym sessions, and long car drives without my headaches and without my feet going numb because of shins.
...Car Accident Injury
I had a car accident December last year (’09) and after that my neck and upper back started to suffer a lot of pain, tension, and a burning sensation. My best friend recommended I visit her chiropractor – best decision I have ever made. It’s been a month and the pain is totally gone! The office has the friendliest staff so that made every visit more pleasant. Thank you!
...Headaches Everyday for 7 ½ Years
After suffering from headaches for 7 ½ years, my family naturopath suggested I see Dr. Roth as my last chance since I had begun to give up the hope of living without daily headaches. After just a few short visits I found my headaches reduced by 60%. This has given me back hope and lowered my stress levels more than I could have wished for.
...Epileptic Seizures
My name is Robert R. I have a history of epilepsy (seizures). I have had this disease since I was 6 years old. Each time I had a seizure the intensity would change randomly, ranging from fully convulsive to non-convulsive. I had them frequently enough that it obstructed me living my life. The prescriptions that my neurologists and other doctors told me would fix my problem only increased the chemical imbalance in my brain. This resulted in more negative side effects which caused more problems. That was my story until I was referred to Dr. Roth and Dr. Aresco at the Kensington Naturopathic Medical Center.
...Migraine
Before I became a patient of Dr. Roth, I had frequent migraines accompanied by strange symptoms such as vomiting, difficulty thinking of common words like my own name, numbness in one arm, spotty or tunnel vision, and feeling panicky. Throughout high school and my first years of college I tried changing my diet, deep breathing, getting 8 hours of sleep every night, etc. None of the treatments I tried ever helped and the symptoms were affecting my daily life. I often had to miss work, school, and social activities. Luckily, my father referred me to Dr. Roth after hearing how Dr. Roth had helped a woman who had migraines.
...Peripheral Neuropathy Causing Pain and Extreme Loss of Motor Control in the Right Arm and Hand
I have to say that due to the help of Dr. Justin Roth I am able to live a much more functional and productive life. It started with difficulty lifting my right arm and also my ability to be able to pick up things. It got to the point where I almost dropped a coffee pot out of my right hand. At that point I knew it was serious. Even worse was that my gardening season, which involves a tremendous amount of lifting, was coming up. I had been to chiropractors previously but I had put that type of care on hold because the treatment I was getting wasn’t helping. I was willing to try chiropractic care again but I needed to be seen by a doctor who would listen more closely to my needs.
...Car Accident
I was in a car accident about 3 months ago in which I was rear-ended. The impact jerked me around quite a bit and it was only about an hour later that I began to get extremely sore in my neck, shoulders, and lower back areas. I arrived at work shortly after to find that the pain increased as the morning progressed and left a few hours later to get a check up at my local walk-in clinic. The Doctor I saw that day had decided, after a very quick examination, that it was a simple case of whiplash and that I should “expect to be sore” for at least another week or two. I was prescribed some non-narcotic muscle relaxers and a strong version of Aleve.
...Chronic Low Back Pain
Although I’m only 31 yrs old, I’ve had chronic lower back problems for many years starting around the age of 17. Over the years, it’s progressively gotten worse. I’ve been “laid out” for days in my bed, not able to move while having back spasms. In late February 2009, I had the worst spasms of my life. I was on the floor for hours unable to move. My wife wanted to call 911 because she had never seen me in this type of pain before. I knew something had to be done. I have been seeing Dr. Justin Roth for a little over 2 months now. I’m virtually pain free. I feel great. I’m able to do the things I used to do before I had the constant agony.
...Lower Back Pain
I initially visited a chiropractor to fix for some lower back pain that I had been experiencing for a few weeks prior. Within a few weeks of my initial examination; I began regular treatment visits, and I began to notice a significant reduction in my lower back pain. I have had other doctor’s mention that medication would be the best solution, or if it got worse, surgery. But with some basic chiropractic adjustments, I had no need to take any form of medicine. Within 2 months, the pain was all gone, and to-date, it has not returned. Even with just those minor adjustments, not only did my pain go away, but my posture showed noticeable improvement and I just felt more relaxed and at ease.
...Chronic Pain and Swelling
Dr. Justin Roth, I just wanted to thank you, Dr. Roth and let you know how grateful I am for the care and adjustments which have helped to unlock my neck. I could not move my neck a full range from left to right and I could not move my head to my left shoulder or to my right shoulder. I have been suffering for many years with pain, sick all the time and swelling on the right side of my body after several accidents that I have had in the past. I have had x-rays of my spinal column and no doctor noticed that my atlas bone was out of position. I thought some of my problems were due to muscle issues, I have even been told I had fibromyalgia.
...Extreme Lower Back Pain, Headaches, Poor Posture, Neck Soreness
I first went to see Dr. Justin Roth this past fall when I was having severe pain in my back. Due to this pain, my movements were very limited and even sleeping was impossible. I called the office and was given an appointment for that same morning. Dr. Roth was very professional, personable, patient and empathetic. He took the time to explain Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care and how it differed from other types of chiropractic care. He then sent me for x-rays. Due to the severity of my pain he even fit me into his schedule later that afternoon to read my x-rays and give me an adjustment. I felt immediate relief from the pain. It wasn’t one hundred percent gone but it was amazing the difference after just one adjustment.
...Low Back Pain, Knee and Foot Pain, Fatigue
On July 29, 2009, I had my first visit to Dr. Roth. At the time of my first visit, I was suffering from extreme lower back, knee and foot pain which was keeping me from performing simple, everyday tasks. I was very tired and lifeless and all I could concentrate on was the throbbing pain. A relative of mine was (and still is) a patient of Dr. Roth’s. I had some knowledge of chiropractic care, and honestly the thought of having my neck and back “twisted and turned” caused me tremendous anxiety. Yet I reached a point where the pain outweighed my fears and I made the call. My first appointment was nothing like I expected. I was so nervous about getting adjusted and having my neck “snapped” at my first visit; but that’s not what happened.
...Lower Back Pain
For about 5 years I have endured pain in my lower back and left leg. At first the pain felt like a sore muscle and only occurred from time to time. It lasted for about 2 years. After those two years the soreness in my leg diminished and the pain in my lower back became more constant. My back was always sore and I became less flexible. This past year I started to limp slightly and both my back and leg hurt almost all the time. I was not able to lift my leg more than 20 degrees. Daily activities as simple as getting in and out of a car were very painful. I was consuming almost 10 Aleve a day! This was not a typical life of a 23 year old!
...Spondylolisthesis
I’ve been struggling with lower back pain for 12-13 years. During that time I’ve seen 5 different chiropractors. They all had one thing in common, they all treated the painful area, not trying to discover the origin of the problem. When I came to Dr. Roth, I was suffering from the same painful lower back pain. It was painful to bend over, put on socks and tie my shoes. I couldn’t sit or stand for more than 30 minutes at a time. When I met Dr. Roth on a Friday afternoon, he sent me to get x-rays to determine the cause of the problem. He wasn’t able to help me that day which was frustrating. I just wanted him to adjust my back to lessen the pain as all of my previous chiropractors did.
...Chronic Neck, Shoulder and Upper Back Pain
Finally, someone has made a real difference in my day! That someone is you. I am virtually pain free for the first time in two years and I attribute your chiropractic expertise to my new well-being. My neck, shoulder, and upper back have dramatically improved since you began adjusting my upper cervical region. I was apprehensive at first; however; your assurances and thorough explanation of your chiropractic methods allayed all my anxiety. It is remarkable one adjustment can make such a long lasting impact. My overall attitude and stamina has improved, and most importantly it is great just to wake each morning and finish my day without a nagging pain emanating from my neck.
...Dizziness, Chronic Migraine and Tension Headaches, Tingling and Numbness in the Face, Shoulder...
I have been plagued with migraine headaches for approximately 30 years. My migraines begin by a visual disturbance known as an aura (flashing lights, zigzag lines, temporary blind spots) and occur about 30 minutes before the migraine pain begins. To be rid of them, I tried everything from changing my diet to biofeedback, all with limited results. I not only suffer from migraines but from tension headaches as well. Both types of headaches are very painful and the only relief I found was by taking a powerful prescription medication which I do not like to do. In the spring of 2010, I injured my neck in the gym.
...Chronic Left Hip Pain, Chronic Low Back Pain, Chronic Neck Pain, Constipation, Asthma, Headaches...
Before I came in to see Dr. Justin Roth, I had been seeing chiropractors for over 25 years. Most of my discomforts and complaints have not gone away; they have just been made more tolerable. Over the past 2 years my pain has become so severe that ordinary, everyday activities have become grueling to deal with. Simple things like getting out of a chair and out of bed in the morning were not only painful, but took a lot of time and care just to perform. I not only suffered from extreme neck and lower back pain but also from other ailments such as; left hip pain, constipation, asthma, headaches, sinus issues, depression, ringing in ears, anxiety, mood swings and bi-polar disorder.
...Chronic Migraine Headaches
I must admit I was very anxious going to a chiropractor having never been to one before. My memories of accompanying my mom when I was younger never left me feeling warm and fuzzy. I knew I had scoliosis and was getting migraine headaches 3-4 times a week. It became the norm to deal with living with these headaches. What I didn't realize is with proper care I could feel better and not have to suffer. I had a 15 degree scoliosis, and now after treatments am no longer classified as having scoliosis! That's amazing. I rarely get migraines anymore either. I really wish I had discovered Dr. Roth and upper cervical care sooner.
...Spinal Stenosis, Low Back Pain, Hip Pain
The “odyssey” with my back began in late April of 2015 when I woke up one morning & could barely get out of bed because of the severity of my back pain. As the day progressed, the pain subsided to the point of being non-existent. I thought it was just a fluke thing so did not pursue medical attention. About a week later, the same thing happened again! This time, since I was unable to see my primary care physician on short notice, I went to an urgent care clinic. X-rays were performed there & I was told that I had arthritis in my low back & hips. The doctor there told me that it was nothing to be concerned about given my age.
...Migraines,Headache,Concentrating,ComputerUse,Driving,Household Chores,Mood Swing,Back Pain,Neck Pain
I showed up at the doctor's Roth office as a miserable person in pain.Basically, my problem was neck, which was affecting my whole body. Almost every day I would wake up with migraine headaches, had problems concentrating, sitting at the computer, driving, doing house chores, my mood was terrible. I wouldn't leave my house without pain meds, horrible!!! I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Roth. He took my x-rays, examined my condition and made a personal plan for me.
...Chronic Neck, Lower Back and Shoulder Pain
I was treated by another local chiropractor for almost two years, three times a week, and never saw any long term improvement. I would feel better for a short while after the treatment, but fell back to feeling the same pain shortly thereafter. In addition, my job requires me to carry 25 pounds of gear every day and the work conditions are less than ergonomically correct. Dr. Roth took x-rays to see how my spine looked and found all sorts of issues, including problems with my very top vertebrae, mid and low back. Dr. Roth has used many techniques to pinpoint and treat my problems and they have greatly improved. Since my treatment began, my neck pain is dramatically better.
...Hypoglycemia, Chronic Neck Pain
My 16-year-old daughter saw Dr. Roth for headaches, vision problems, and hearing problems in the spring of 2010. They were all relieved with just chiropractic. The amazing thing was that the swelling of her face and extremities which had plagued her since middle school also disappeared. I myself had had some unnerving popping in my neck for four years, so I thought I would give chiropractic a try. After my first adjustment, my popping went away. Over the next two to three weeks, the chronic tension in my right neck slowly began to fade away.
...Chronic Pain, Increasing Headaches, Vision Loss, Knee and Ankle Pain
If you're looking for a chiropractor, I highly recommend Dr Roth at Roth Family Chiropractic. I met Dr Roth in January 2013 and began treatment shortly after for debilitating migraines. Dr Roth straightened out my spine, from c1 on down. My migraines are gone, my recurring knee and hip pain is gone because my legs are now even, and what was diagnosed as metatarsal tunnel syndrome in my left foot is also gone. Dr Roth got me back on my feet, doing what I love: Running! Without pain! Something my ortho told me years ago I'd never do again. Dr Roth has also made a significant difference in the lives of several other people I care about. Needless to say, I'm beyond thankful for Dr Roth and those who work with him in his office.
...Headaches, Dizziness, Fatigue
I’ve been suffering from chronic headaches, sporadic dizziness and a general feeling of being “off” for over a year now. It was affecting my general mood and patience level for a long time. Having a stressful office job, and then coming home to my young boys and another on the way, I needed to do something to get myself back on track so that I would feel good enough to keep up with my busy schedule. I had been seeing my regular chiropractor every 3 weeks as well as getting regular massages, and the adjustments were just not helping me get back to feeling even close to 100%.
...Vertigo
I am so thankful for the care I received for my Vertigo. This whole episode happened suddenly and finding treatment was to say the least challenging. Visits to hospitals, undergoing MRI's and taking various drugs were not helping at all. I did find a chiropractic treatment solution with Dr. Roth and his specialty of Upper Cervical. I am now playing tennis, golfing, hiking and riding my road bike once again. Thanks to Dr. Roth and his caring staff I am back to my normal active self!
...20 Years of Vertigo, Neck and Low Back Pain
Over 20 years ago I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease in my cervical and lower lumbar spine. Over time I developed a myriad of issues in my head, neck and back. They ranged from varying degrees of pain to vertigo. Initially I did not realize that the vertigo was related to the neck issues and thought this indicated something far worse as it became so debilitating at times. Frequently it was difficult to tilt my head back far enough to take a drink and often found myself drifting to one side as I walked.
